You really can’t drive 55

Many people don’t know (or care) that the speed limit around the Atlanta perimeter is a snail-paced 55MPH.  If you’ve driven 285 (outside of rush hour), cars are whizzing by you at 20 miles over the imposed speed limit.  The only way to safely drive this trek is to keep up with traffic and break the law.  A group of students from GSU recently took life into their own hands by seeing what would happen if they created a “rolling road block” and forced traffic to flow at the intended 55mph speed limit.  Warning:  Don’t try this in your city.

I’m with you about the silly 55 MPH speed limit in the ATL...and that’s one of the most hilarious “harmless” stunts, I’ve seen yet...the video editing & music was awesome..the whole project well executed.

In fact I’ve heard from an officer myself that the “unspoken” speed limit of I-285 is 79 MPH!! So if you’re speeding 83 MPH for instance, sooner (or l8r)
you’re bound to bee pulled over for 28 over - a whooping fine or even reckless driving charges -not good for the insurance rating.

the key as mentioned in this video is driving the speed of traffic to even be safe, cause 55 could kill you if the drivers don’t first in the ATL.

BTW, you should submit this video to You-Tube.com, Current.com, and other video sites.

Good job! Can’t wait for you to expose other “stupid & un-enforced laws!
