The day the lights went out in Monroe (pt 2)
I’ve been living in Monroe for about a year now and so far we’ve had two city wide power outages in that time. Yesterday there was a fire at the electrical substation on Park Ave. I was in the sales office printing out a flier for AM540 and noticed the lights flicker. The guys on location needed a fax brought to them a few minutes later so I ran it out to them. On my way out the door I noticed the KNOE generator was running. It all made sense when I saw the traffic lights were out. Luckily I didn’t have far to go. The entire city was blacked out for about 30 minutes. Amazingly, you would never know if you stayed in the KNOE building. That is one hell of a generator! When I got home last night, my computer was off. I hit the power switch and within 30 seconds everything was back just as I had left it before I went to work. I’ve got some super APC backup battery that will automatically put the machine into hibernate if the power goes off for longer than 5 mintues. It got it’s first test yesterday and passed with flying colors!
Last week my copy of Pinnacle Studio 9.0 finally arrived. This is a GREAT video editing package. I highly recommend it if you are making DVDs. It does menus too! I dumped Fuse’s Voodoo footage to DVD complete with a menu that lets you select which artist you want to watch. It turned out great. I passed copies off to Fast Eddie and Amanda.
Smash Bros Mele has been taking a pounding from me lately. I’m up to 153 trophies and I’m only missing 2 levels that I know of. Now I just have to beat Adventure mode with 15 or so more characters!
