I called it!
I’ve learned a very valuable lesson this TV watching season: Publish your analysis in your blog so that you can gloat about it later. I should have done this when I picked the winner of Apprentice 5 during its premiere episode. Back when I used to watch reality TV shows, I would select one candidate during the first episode who I thought had the best chance of winning and see how well I faired. I guess you could say it’s Reality Show Madness. This season I selected Sean to become The Donald’s 5th Apprentice. Maybe it was his sense of confidence or his British accent that swayed me during that first episode so many weeks ago but none-the-less, this charming bugger is in the final two against Lee. Read on for my analysis and be warned; next TV season I will post analysis of all the TV that I watch.
Neither Sean nor Lee have demonstrated much leadership this season on the Apprentice but to their credit, neither has any other candidate. All in all this season’s pool was weak. Going in to the final task, I had a good feeling that I had picked the Apprentice. Lee has been, as Trump put it, a politician most of this season and has tried not to tick anyone off instead of being forceful and sticking to his guns. He’s had a few good ideas, mainly involving pricing but really blew the tailgate task despite being a newly-grad. I think Lee is on the verge of losing the Leary Firefighters endorsement because of his lack of planning. To quote Lee: ‘’They didn’t hire me to go into a meeting and be very very prepared for the meeting.” What DID they hire you for then Lee? I mean even Pepe (who?) brought up matching funds but you didn’t listen.
Had it been me, I would have proposed a firefighter boot camp where you would spend a day driving a fire truck and putting out mock fires all on a closed course under supervision of the real guys. You can put a price on a car. You really can’t put a price on something exclusive like that. I think that both teams are going to have to think of something else besides a raffle to pull in funds. Besides, you will only get 2 winners with their idea. Spread my idea out over a 2 day weekend with 50 winners per day. Say the minimum bid is $1000. That’s 100 grand in addition to the car raffle. Heck if they want classy, what about a private party with Leary telling jokes for $1000 a plate? Oh and another thing...Dennis Leary’s organization hosts classy events? Anyone else see the irony in that?
Back to the candidates. If Sean is able to keep his eyes off the prize (Tammy) and on the prize (the “dream job"), then he should have no problem winning this thing. I hope they don’t sit around worrying about Andrea the Android either. If Lee loses the firefighters, Sean will almost have to forfeit to lose. Then again, you never know who will win this thing. That’s right America...you decide. What is this American Apprentice or something? Judging from those “Get Rich” promotions every week, America isn’t too fond of Lee. Maybe it’s his two faced politician-like character or his hands-off approach to management but make no mistake about it, Sean will be the next Apprentice. Oh and I called it!
