How to give your iPod iCPR
OK...I admit it...I abused my iPod. I left the poor guy in my car overnight last night and temperatures dropped to near freezing. When I got in the car this morning I found the icePod in a persistant vegitative state known to mac-thusiasts as “the white screen of death.” When I turned the iPod on the screen illuminated but that was all that happened. No sad face, no apple logo...nothing. So I was forced to make the trek from Jacksonville to Atlanta with the new 99x Live X 11 cd and the radio. Both got old real quick.
When I got home I did a little research and found some useful iPod troubleshooting key combinations. All it took was the reset combination and I was back up and running! Here are the combinations that I found:
Hold Menu + Center button = Reset
(when the apple logo appears) Hold Center + Rewind = Diagnostic Mode
Big CC Atlanta shakeup
I just found out that there’s going to be a big shake up at Clear Channel Atlanta tomorrow morning. For those that didn’t hear, Clear Channel went private today and is going to sell off over 400 of its radio stations and revamp the rest to become more profitable. They’ve waisted no time in doing this either. As of 9am Friday morning, heritage rock station 96.1 is no more. Taking its place will be the younger skewing Active Rock station 105.3 The Buzz which will inherit the 96.1 frequency. Also it’s rumored that their annoying morning jock Whip is not making the move. Look for all of this to go down at 9am. Rumors are that 105.3 will become Spanish and more changes are on the way. I think Atlanta is in need of a good radio shakeup. I may even press the tuner button in my car tomorrow and break away from the iPod!
No Wii for Me
I’m feeling a little like Eric Cartman did on that episode of South Park where he calls himself from the future to warn his past self to wait in line for the Wii. Only I would call myself if I could and say “get off your ass and go pre that Wii TODAY! Don’t wait till next week...do it NOW!” Here’s the deal. I called FYE today to ask about pre-ordering Twilight Princess because I had a feeling this game would be quite popular (hey it’s the new Zelda and has been called the “best and longest Zelda ever made”). I’ve talked to the girl at this store a lot so she told me that the store only got 3 Wii consoles. If you read the Buzz you know that I’m #4 on the list. Doesn’t that suck?! I guess that means I’m #1 on the list for the next shipment. If she’s right, they’ll get another shipment for Black Friday and I’ll be able to snatch one of those up. I guess the only way to guarantee one of these things is to camp out in the cold/rain.
OMG Wii!
I’m #4 on the preorder list @ FYE. Too bad I’m going to be out of town until Wednesday. Try to guess what I’ll be doing over Thanksgiving!
Whoopie for Version Three!
Welcome to BrendanOnline version 3 dot 0. This incarnation of BrendanOnline I’m dubbing “The Same But Different Edition.” While I’ve kept the same color scheme and flash header, everything else is completely different. Take a look around. I’m sure you’ll find the site a lot easier to navigate and the layout a lot cleaner. Now that I’ve finally implemented the 3.0 milestone, I’ll be posting a lot more on the site. Look for “the best of the internet according to Brendan” on this site. Whatever I find while surfing the net along with submissions from my friends are all fair game. Anyone who’s tired of being the last to know about cool gadgets or cool and funny websites/videos should visit this site daily. Oh and there may be a thing or two that broke in the process of designing the new site. If you find something that doesn’t look quite right, send me an email and let me know about it.
